Recently the government of India had banned 59 Chinese on June 29 apps by namely TikTok, share it, Shein, etc. because these apps were spying on India and stealing information of users through apps. To protect the sovereignty and integrity of India this 59 Chinese were banned by India's ministry of electronics and IT, But PUBG was not in the list of banned apps as it is published by Tencent, a Chinese videogame company and in India this game is also published under the name of Tencent. The reason why this app not banned in India, because of its mixed ownership, and it is not solely a Chinese company. This game is managed wholly by South Korean company, blue hole as it just published by Tencent. Not only PUBG  but there are other Chinese which not banned in India like MV master, Aliexpress, turbo VPN, PUBG lite, etc. So, the only reason for PUBG not prohibited in India is its ownership.

Yes china can, but due to its large business from India, any company will not try to do so as they will lose its market in India which will cause them millions and south Korea has no conflict with India, so they always try its to maintain its market in India. Still, if the ministry of India found that this game is breaching India's laws then, they can ban it. Although there are certain rumours that this is the first round of apps banned in India and Modi govt. Will also ban other few apps which affect India's security. So PUBG may be in the list, maybe not. In certain countries, PUBG is still forbidden, and it was prohibited by govt. of India before because Indian youth is spending too much of their time playing that game and it is good for them but govt. Taken that ban back due to its popularity and craze among Indians.
