Sports betting is done in the greed of earning more in a short span. And in many cases, they end up losing all the money they had.

Whereas in countries like Australia, the united kingdom, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and South Africa sports betting are legal. While in other countries it is sports betting is legal in some definite sports. Like Argentina has legalised terms of sports betting for only horse racing. In some states, it is decided that only citizens of that country are allowed for betting. Whereas in countries like UAE, Qatar, Singapore, North Korea, sports betting is illegal.
